I will be posting 2 articles tomorrow: the first one at 8:00 am and the second at 9:00. On weekdays I will be posting at 6:00 pm and on weekends 10:00 am.
In case you have not heard, Villanova has just been upset in the NCAA Tournament by Wisconsin 65-62. Leading the scoring for the Badgers was Nigel Hayes with 19, while the leading scorer for the Wildcats was Josh Hart with 19 as well. Surely this will bust a lot of brackets, including mine.
March Madness is already underway, so I thought that it would be a good idea to tell you who I think is the best coach in college basketball right now. First, I have a couple of honorable mentions for this topic. I have one honorable mention from a mid-major team and one from a Power 5 team.
First up is Kermit Davis from Middle Tennessee State University. This experienced coach has been at Middle Tennessee for 15 seasons, and not only has he led them to two straight NCAA Tournament appearances, his teams have upset 2 seed Michigan State and 5 seed Minnesota in the last 2 seasons. Atop that they were the Conference USA champions in 2017
The coach in Power 5 is Rick Pitino from Louisville. Rick has been the coach at Louisville since 2001 and won a championship in 2013. Before Rick’s time at Louisville, he was the head coach at Kentucky, where he won a championship in 1996.
Overall Best Coach
And now for the best coach in all of college basketball. My choice for this award is Mike Krzyzewski. This legendary coach has been at Duke since 1980. He has led them to 12 Final Fours and 5 National Championships. He has also coached USA Basketball to 3 gold medals. He is surely going to be inducted into the Basketball Hall Of Fame when he retires.
