This is the second of the 6 threads that I will have for the game tonight. There will be a different one for pregame, each quarter and one for halftime. You do not need to refresh the page to see updates, and you can comment with Facebook or by logging in to WordPress below.
P.S. I’m letting my Dad post on these threads too.

I’m sticking with what I said in November, saying the Patriots would beat the Eagles in tonight’s game. I think Brady will have a great game and the Eagles defense won’t be able to force the run. I think the Patriots win 24-17.
Earlier this week I posted an article about the AFC Championship, previewing the matchup and making a prediction as to who I think will win. You can read that post here. Today we will be doing the same thing, just for the NFC Championship game. Make sure you like my facebook page here and follow my Twitter here.
Minnesota Vikings vs, Philadelphia Eagles
I predicted earlier this year that the Eagles were going to make it to the Super Bowl, but things have changed now that Carson Wentz is out for the season with an ACL Tear. But before we predict the game, let’s preview the teams. The Vikings are lead by former backup QB Case Keenum, and they throw for about 234 yards a game. On the running side, they would have started Dalvin Cook if he hadn’t torn his ACL. So they instead start Latavious Murray, and all the Vikings combine for 122 yards rushing per game. Their defense gives up 192 yards passing and 83 yards rushing per game, both great numbers.
The Eagles would have Carson Wentz, but because of his injury in Week 14, they will instead start Nick Foles. They pass for 233 yards per game. Their rushing game, led by LeGarrette Blunt, runs for 132 yards a game. Look for the Eagles to run more because it is an outside game and they might not want to take risks with Foles having started just 4 games so far this year. The Eagles defense gives up 227 yards passing and just 79 yards rushing per game.
I think that the Eagles are going to win because of home field. The playoffs often are decided based on who is the home team because of how loud the fans are when the other team has the ball, and the home team feels more confident when they have the crowd backing them. The 2 teams in this game are very evenly matched on both offense and defense, so I think the deciding factor will be home field.
I will be doing another post like this to preview the Super Bowl matchup once it is decided, so make sure you read that when it comes out.
After this weekend’s divisional round games, there are just 4 teams remaining in the playoffs. Today I will be previewing and predicting the AFC Championship, and later this week I will preview the NFC Championship. New England Patriots vs Jacksonville Jaguars
The Patriots are the top seed in the AFC, and they beat the Titans 35-14 yesterday to move on. They have the best QB in the league in Tom Brady, but they have almost no running game. They went 13-3 in the regular season, and they lost 2 of those games to playoff teams. They average 276 passing yards and 118 rushing yards per game, and only gave up 365 yards total per game. The question will be whether the Jaguars can force the Patriots to run the football, and they will first have to stop the passing game for this to work.
The Jaguars come into this game as the underdogs, but that’s the same position they were on today vs the Steelers. They won 45-42 in Pittsburgh, but things will only get tougher as they have to face a hostile Boston crowd for the AFC Championship. They have a more balanced offense than the Patriots, with Blake Bortles throwing for 224 yards a game, and Leonard Fornette and the other back rushing for 141 yards a game. Their defense gives up about 285 yards a game, much better than the Patriots. But they haven’t faced an offense like the Patriots yet.
I think the Patriots will win and move onto the Super Bowl because of their offense and veterans. The Jaguars are a good team, but their young age may play a part in whether they can compete with a team like the Patriots, which has been winning for years. Tom Brady can pick apart any team he wants, and I cant see a way that the Jaguars defense will stop him. It will be a high scoring game, but I think the Patriots will win by double digits.
With Week 8 of the NFL Season over, we are just less than halfway through the 2017-18 Season and less than 3 months from Super Bowl LI, I am going to be predicting who I think will be in the Super Bowl and some awards Make sure to like my facebook page here, and follow my Twitter here. Thank you.
NFC Championship Game
The NFC has been close this season with the exception of the Eagles. Philly is 8-1, and their only loss was to the 6-3 Chiefs. Carson Wentz is performing like he did in college at North Dakota State, where he won 5 straight FCS titles. Wentz will be more prepared than other young players when the playoffs come because of his experience in big games. The Eagles should be a lock to make it at least as far as the NFC Championship.
The other team I think will make the NFC Championship is the Dallas Cowboys because they don’t have a very difficult second half. They should go at least 5-3 with their losses being 2 to Philly and 1 to Atlanta, but I could see them beating the Falcons. Dak Prescott is experienced in the NFL now, as is Ezekiel Elliot. The player the Cowboys should be worried about is Dez Bryant. He sprained his ankle and has only 38 catches this year. When he is at his best, Bryant can get over 90 catches a year, so either he isn’t being targeted enough or he is not catching as many of the ball thrown to him as usual. The Cowboys are still a good team and the only team that I feel will threaten them in the playoffs is Green Bay IF they have Aaron Rogers.
The AFC has not had a great team this year, with none of the teams having a record close to the Eagles. But with the veteran teams in the AFC, they could compete with the Eagles in the Super Bowl. The first team that I believe will make the AFC Championship is the New England Patriots because they have an easy second half. They could go 7-1, and the only game that could challenge them is when they are in Pittsburgh. The Patriots have a good offense, but their defense has to step up, as they are giving up almost 300 passing yards per game and 121 rushing yards per game. Home field advantage would be key for the Patriots, so they need to take every game seriously in the second half.
The other team that will make it to the AFC Championship is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are currently tied with the Patriots in the conference standings. They also have an easy second half, playing just 3 teams .500 or above, and they could be playing the Packers without Aaron Rodgers. The AFC will be a 2 team race in the second 1/2, and the team that gets home field could have the best chance of making the Super Bowl
I think that the Patriots and the Eagles will make it to Super Bowl 52. I think the Eagles will have an easy road to Minnesota in the playoffs, and the Patriots will clinch the AFC because they will get home-field advantage. The Patriots will beat the Eagles in the title game because of experience. Despite Carson Wentz having experience in big games, the rest of the Eagles team has not been to the Super Bowl since 2004, and their predicted opponents have won the Super Bowl 4 times since then. Tom Brady can win games with any receivers, and this year he has Brandin Cooks, Gronk, and Chris Hogan.
I think that Carson Wentz will win the MVP because he will continue to put up great numbers even if his team loses. If the Eagles do lose the Super Bowl, it will not be his fault, He already has 23 touchdown passes this year, and he could easily get 40. His completion percentage is almost the same as last year, and he is getting over a yard more per completion, showing that he is taking more chances and still completing them. Wentz could be a superstar if he continues to play like he is throughout the rest of his career.
Today’s Birthday of the day is Randall Cunningham, a former NFL quarterback. Cunningham, who is turning 54 today, was a member of the Philidelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens in his career. He was a 3 time player of the year and was selected to 4 Pro Bowls. He also was the comeback player of the year once. In his career, he passed for 29,979 yards and 207 touchdowns.
